Edit: After visiting several times the last 12 days I’d like to update my review as the hot toppings I had were delicious and the staff were welcoming and friendly. I’m a coleslaw snob so don’t let me put you off trying it as I can see so many reviews of others who loved it. Everything else I tried was top notch, the cheese is so tasty. I definitely recommend visiting and regret posting my first review so quickly the first day I tried one. I think the younger staff were having an off day the first day I visited as they’ve been brilliant since. Jacket potato was huge but unfortunately the coleslaw is shop bought and they don’t wrap them up so the cheese didn’t melt like it does at other spud vans when wrapped. I will come back in the week to try again with a hot filling and see if it’s any better but currently I wouldn’t recommend. I will update my review once trying another. The young staff weren’t overly friendly either

Lovely little corner in Paignton to enjoy a top quality spud. The lady and the gentleman who served us couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful! We will definitely repeat when we come back to Paignton :D P.S. I really recommend the Spanish spud with chicken, chorizo, peppers & cheese, yummy!

I am a coach driver 1st time in Paignton happened to stumble across The Spud Shack and soo glad I did! Spud was cooked perfect for me nice and buttery love how they didn't mash it up like most places they just cut it in half. I decided to try their hunters chicken and wow so tasty I really enjoyed it the gentleman that served me suggested hot honey on top I would never of thought to add it but wow it made it banging highly recommend. Only down point personally for me was the price list most on menu had £3 or £4 at the side and a wee pop up chalkboard said hunters chicken £3 but when I came to pay it was £11... bit confused as I just had the Spud and a fanta but the food and service was great will definitely recommend to my passengers on my next visit and come back myself.

I've been here a few times in the past week. Best jacket potatos I've ever had. He even convinced me to try some honey on my beans and cheese jacket, which I thought is a weird combination, but it actually tastes amazing and my new favourite thing to have on it now. The guy running it is very friendly and helpful, and the food is amazing. There is nothing negative to say at all. Will definitely be going here more often for my lunch!

This potato was exceptional and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys potatoes. It is superior to the renowned spud man himself.

Great food great service and reasonably priced. I had the pulled pork jacket wich was home made with hot honey. Highly reccomend. Really friendly and chatty staff. Will be back for sure

Was down on holiday and couldn’t decide what to have when we saw this place. Wow we were not disappointed it was amazing we left there absolutely stuffed from the hunters chicken jackets. The lady even helped us as my mum had allergies so she went through what was in there so she knew if she could have it great value and lovely staff. Definitely come back again

WOW The best jacket spud I've ever had! Baked for hours as it was like creamy mash inside and the homemade pulled pork was to die for. Definitely recommend
